My most rewarding work to date has been my experiences as a teaching artist.

Kevin Winebold is teaching tap dance to a room of students at Youth Theatre of Kenya. The room has a wood floor and white walls with barres along the perimeter..

It started in New York City, as a member of the team at Disney Theatrical Group. From there, I also began creating and facilitating workshops for Encores! at City Center, The New York Pops Orchestra, A Class Act NY, and Broadway Classroom.

As my passion for education grew, so did my desire to share it on a larger scale. I started with a summer in Japan, teaching music in Osaka. I then spent a year in Seoul, South Korea, as a musical theatre and tap dance instructor at The Institute of Creative Arts. My most recent experience in Asia was as a musical director for the Children’s Art Theatre School in Shanghai, China.

Kevin Winebold is working with a group of artists rehearsing an original piece in Moheto, Kenya. The room has a metal roof and wooden beams on the ceiling.

My first experience in Africa was as a guest clinician for Angola’s first International Choir Conference. While there, I had the incredible opportunity to perform a concert with two of the country’s most accomplished gospel musicians. I loved it so much, I went back the following year to continue working with adult choirs and a children’s theatre. Most recently, I went to Kenya to teach theatre and tap workshops with the Youth Theatre of Kenya in Nairobi.
